Healthier to let go

It really is healthier to let go. Sometimes it’s hard though…

And then I pulled out my yoga mat and began my practice. I watched the rage tense my muscles, cause a frown and basically make me lose concentration for the first 10 minutes or so. But then, just noticing how this rage affected me made me less angry. And soon I watched it dance through my body, even as I moved through my practice. By the time I was done, drenched with sweat, I had watched the rage dance away. I had let go.

Letting go, especially of emotions, is tough. Many of us hold on to things for far too long. Sometimes that thing, especially an emotion, gets the better of us, makes us do silly things. With an emotion, if we hold on to it long enough, it might eat away into us, like a slow poison.
