Reiki for animals

Pet owners may struggle when their fur kids are ill or behaving oddly. Sometimes, the hardest moments are when our fur kids are close to passing on, and we try to do our best to ease their passing.

What can we do to help them, or express what we feel, or even perhaps understand what they want when they are distress.

Reiki – a form of energy healing – is one opportunity we have to help them – even in the times of good health. Read more about reiki below.

Dusty Reiki

Thank you very much for all your reiki healing sent to us. We enjoyed and love and cherished every healing light sent. Thank you for what you do, your patience, your understanding, your kindness extended to us.

We appreciate it very much and we felt all the energy healing sent to us physically, emotionally and spiritually. You are a great blessing to us and we are both lucky to have ‘met’ you in our journey here.

Caku & Yin Yong – cat siblings

Daniel is very passionate about reiki and spirituality in overall, making him a good reference in energy work. He is committed and punctual, a very pleasant energy to be around. I always feel very positive and relaxed after our reiki sessions.

Reiki is a Japanese technique of energy healing. It is based on the idea that if one’s energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. A reiki healer will help to conduct energy to the client through him or herself.

Check out what Medical news today has to say about reiki here and below:

Energy medicine aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure. Improving the flow of energy around the body, say practitioners, can enable relaxation, reduce pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness.

Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.

Reiki for animals.

One of the major reasons I learnt reiki (now level 2) was because I learnt that some healers manage to communicate with their pets. In addition, the healer in question managed to make her dog comfortable in the final days of her (the dog’s) life.

I recalled how tough it was for two of my dogs – Chewby and Bandit – when they passed on, and also one of Eddy’s cats, Ginger. I thought if there was any way I could make their last days more comfortable and to ease their passing, I would learn it.

Reiki has created such a stronger deeper bond for me to my fur kids. When I travel, the pets I have a deeper connection to can communicate to me about what’s happening at home. While some may be dubious, most of the times whatever is ‘reported’ turns out to be true with verification from our pet-carer.

This guided reiki practice is to channel reiki energy to your animal companion, helping you both experience a profound connection.

It’s the same when I do distance reiki for animals other than my own. Whatever information the animal communicates to me invariably is verified by the owner.

Please note though – not all reiki healers have this ability to communicate. Also, I do not have the ability to connect with all animals.

What is distance reiki?

“Reiki works according to an ancient principle called the Hermetic Law of Similarity, which holds that we are all connected, as we are all made of energy and part of a larger whole. Invoking this law during a distance Reiki session allows the practitioner to link up to the energy field of the recipient.” (By Sharna Langlais, MindBodyGreen.)

My own dogs also get reiki!

These are in-person reiki images, please see the video below for how I do channel reiki remotely.

Does it work?

As with all complementary forms of healing (actually even conventional forms of healing), there are no guarantees. Reiki works on energy, so sometimes the energy may seek to heal an underlying cause rather than the symptoms themselves, or sometimes the other way around.

Helping out at a group reiki session – which can be done at a distance too!

However, it does help overall. When I send reiki to animals, the results are always positive. The most recent cat client began to be more mobile, even going downstairs to enjoy the garden, catnip and bird-watching – eating and drinking on his own. Usually the animals end up feeling more relaxed, less anxious, etc.
