A friend of mine goes into work at 9 in the morning. He puts down his bag, makes a cup of coffee and settles in front of the computer. By 10.15, his blog is updated, usually a post of almost 500 words, with nice photos to complement the piece. By 11, he has about 50 comments left on his blog. I sometimes wonder whether his whole morning is dedicated to his blog.
It’s no wonder employee blogs are growing to be a concern among employers. From the employers’ point of view, blogs are a two-pronged problem:
- an employee’s time is wasted on his or her blog; and
- business secrets may be revealed on the employee’s blog.
