What is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive healing practice that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The word “reiki” combines two Japanese words: “rei” meaning universal life energy, and “ki” meaning the life force energy that flows through all living beings. Reiki is recognised as a complementary healing modality by the Malaysian Ministry of Health.
During in-person reiki sessions, healers generally channel this universal healing energy through their hands that promotes natural healing and balance. Unlike massage or other physical therapies, in-person reiki sessions works purely with energy and requires no manipulation or pressure. The healer simply places their hands on or near the recipient, allowing the healing energy to flow where it’s needed most.

During a distance session, the healer connects energetically with your animal companion, maybe using their name, photo, and location. The healer then sends healing energy across any distance – whether your pet is in the next room or across the country. Many animals seem to instinctively know when they are receiving reiki, often becoming calm, relaxed, or even sleepy during the appointed session time.
What Happens During a Distance Session:
- Your animal can remain in their familiar, comfortable environment
- No travel stress or disruption to their routine
