The Sun: Learning vs Scoring

Another examination leak in Malaysia and my thoughts on it. I mean, we seem to have examination papers leaked every two years, hardly seems newsworthy at all anymore.

When there is a demand there will be supply. This is the simple economics I learnt in A levels. We are as exam-oriented as most Asian countries (I still recall the phrase “an A minus is an Asian F”), so of course some parties would try to capitalise on this.

We don’t go to school to learn. We go to school to get As in our exams. We aren’t taught the subjects we take, we are taught how to pass the exams for the subjects. And if there is that demand, there will be a supply.

Tell me, what are your thoughts?
