A few thoughts on climate change and the way we eat:
In terms of a healthier lifestyle, let’s talk about eating meat. I notice many who practise yoga, qi gong or tai chi tend to slowly eat less meat. As for me, I hardly eat meat any more. Whether this is a result of my fitness lifestyle or yoga practice, I am not sure. But it has made a noticeable difference in the way I feel and look.
In terms of climate change, it has been said that raising animals as agricultural produce results in more greenhouse gases than all the carbon dioxide belched out by motor vehicles, boats, airplanes and trains.
Researchers claim that the resources required and sacrificed to raise animals for meat outweighs all the steps we can take to reduce our carbon footprint, including driving less, using less electricity and water and buying from environmentally-conscious businesses.
In other words, eating less meat has more benefits for our climate than anything else we can do!
